Pin-Up Girls.

I'm a member of an online Pin-Up girls community (and have been for the past several years). These are Pin-Up girls as in the 1940s sense - Vargas, etc. Examples of new Pin-Up artists include Dolph (http://www.photosbydolph.com). We were all having a discussion about "modern pin-ups."

Here are the differences between OUR pin-up photos and modern pin-ups:



OUR PINUPS: Photos are sexy but not necessarily nude
MODERN PINUPS: Photos are completely nude

OUR PINUPS: Models are doing day-to-day things in poses, Smiling or not.
MODERN PINUPS: Models are posing in ridiculous provocative poses as if they're about to fuck a watermelon with ridiculous looks on their faces (see porn)

OUR PINUPS: Women are "real" women with curves - minimal make-up, etc.
MODERN PINUPS: Women are usually incredibly thin with fake curves - lots of makeup- and generally underage women trying to make it "big" in the porn industry

OUR PINUPS: No "props"
MODERN PINUPS: Props including sex toys

OUR PINUPS: "Outfits" are scant and sexy...but there...revealing just enough
MODERN PINUPS: "Outfits" include white thigh highs and nothing, chunky boots, etc.

Are you seeing something going on here? Modern pin-ups are nothing more than basic porn shots. "Our" pin-ups are still classified as art. I'm glad to be "our" pin-up as opposed to something trashy.
